Facebook Ads Vs Google Ads

Everyone knows that Facebook Ads and Google Ads are the main two places to advertise online, but do you know the difference?

The obvious answer is that they are two different platforms, but did you know that if used properly they are complimentary, each offering unique benefits to a business?

Below is a quick explanation about each one and how they both help your business grow.

DIFFERENCE

Facebook Ads is a platform used for paid social campaigns.

Google Ads is used to run ads on search engines as well as affiliated websites.

GOALS

Facebook Ads is great for brand awareness & product awareness. (Most users are not actively looking to purchase.)

Google Search Ads reach users who have a high purchase intent because your ads only show when someone is actively searching for your service or product.

TARGETING

Facebook Ads offers granular targeting capabilities, allowing business’s to reach users based on location, behaviors, life events & interests.

Google Search Ads has targeting capabilities but doesn’t have full control over who sees the ads like Facebook does.

COST

Facebook Ads are considered to be pay-per-click but you can also pay for impressions and views so your money goes further.

Google Search ads allow you to bid on specific keywords. However, if the keywords you’re targeting has a lot of competition and you have a small budget your ads won’t show often.

When it comes down to it, one isn’t inherently better than the other. Each one offers unique features that can be useful to your brand at various points in it’s growth and are best if used in conjunction.
