Selecting the right online advertising agency is crucial for the growth & success of your business. While knowing what to look for is important (like we covered in our previous blog, 3 Things That Make a Good Agency), it’s equally essential to recognize red flags that can signal potential issues. In this blog, we will discuss 3 things to avoid when choosing an agency to ensure you make the best decision for your business.

Lack of Past Projects

If a company doesn’t have examples of past projects, you won’t know what kind of work they do.  A good advertising agency should have examples readily available to show you what they have done & what they can do for you.

Lack of Transparency

If an agency avoids questions or they don’t answer your questions directly, they may be hiding something.  A good advertising agency will be available to discuss your plan, happy to show you your results & will make sure you always understand what is going on with your money.

Lack of Preparation

If an agency doesn’t take the time to understand your product or service, you may want to think twice. You should pick an agency that knows your business. If they don’t, they should ask questions and/or if possible, visit your store to get as acquainted with your products as possible.  The more an agency knows about your product the better they will be able to tell others about it.

When it comes down to it, when you are looking for a new agency, it should be treated like every other business decision you make. Check out the company. Don’t just look at their website (a company can put anything they want on their own site,) actually search for them on Google to make sure nothing fishy comes up. Also, keep in mind that cheap doesn’t always mean good.  Advertising is just like everything else; you get what you pay for.

That’s all I have for today. If you have any questions or would like to see what working with an experienced, reliable, & prepared agency is like, please feel free to reach out.
