A couple of weeks ago I provided a few best practices when writing for a Facebook post and today I want to provide more.
We’ve already discussed how you should try to get people’s attention right away, how Facebook posts should be written like you are talking to a friend and how using symbols & emojis can catch people’s eyes.
Today, I am going to touch on 3 more things I think you should consider when writing a Facebook post.
~ Use posts to educate – Social media is the easiest way to get information about your business in front of your customers so use it to do so. Tell people about your services or remind them about the products you offer. Stay professional & stay away from things that have nothing to do with your business. You want a person to see your page & have the same feeling as if they had walked into your storefront.
~ Make it simple – The average person doesn’t know the technical terms of the glass business so don’t use them, use layman’s words that people understand. Also, it’s said the average American reads at a 2nd grade level, so keep both in mind when choosing your words.
~ Provide a Call-to-Action – If you don’t tell people what to do, they will just continue scrolling. Use the last sentence of each post to remind people that they should call for a free quote or stop by when they have a chip.
Using these ideas will increase the chance that people will stop scrolling long enough to look at your posts, therefore increases results, which is our ultimate goal.
